At around 2,500 metres elevation, Kaptagat is one of the highest training bases in Kenya. The cool climate and forested trails of the Kaptagat Forest make it the preferred pre-marathon camp for Eliud Kipchoge's NN Running Team and many other elite groups.
The area is quiet, low-traffic and focused — there is little to do other than train, eat, and sleep, which is exactly what serious marathoners want during a build-up. Train in Kenya connects visiting athletes with the local coaches, camps, and accommodation that make Kaptagat work.
